Our association, together with Banca di Bologna, finally opens the doors to the “Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista“, also known as “dei Fiorentini”.

In honor of the European Heritage Days, from 24 September to 31 May 2023 it will be possible to visit the Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista with us.

The Oratorio dei Fiorentini, a jewel of the Baroque period as well as the Bank’s official boardroom, will exhibit “La Nascita del Battista” (The Birth of the Baptist) by Sebastiano Ricci, a canvas painted by the Venetian master around 1695 and removed from its original environment after the Napoleonic Art Requisitions.

This temporary “restitution” project arises from a collaboration between the Department of Cultural Heritage at the University of Bologna and the National Art Gallery of Bologna, which generously granted the loan.
