The San Petronio Meridian Line with the “Notte Europea dei Ricercatori”

PRESBYTERY OF THE SAN PETRONIO BASILICA
“Notte Europea dei Ricercatori” (European Researchers’ Night), is an event that brings people of all ages together in the streets, squares, and cultural heritage sites, as well as in universities and the laboratories of the main research institutes. In occasion of this special event, an astronomer and a gnomonist will explain the history, structure, and function of the world’s largest meridian line, which can be found in the San Petronio Basilica and was built in 1657 by Domenico Cassini.
